After a painfully long break, Appledore welcomed the sound of live music once more. Jean Cann has done a fantastic job of organising dozens of live gigs at the Social Club in the coming months, and the first one took place on May 17, the same day that indoor events were permitted once again. The Social Club looked resplendent with a new dance floor and carpet. Steve Ruffe led the acoustic evening featuring some of the area’s finest musicians.
We heard Steve himself performing, the fabulous Tracy and Steve of dogleg, Paul of Marsh Songs and David Snell of Vidris Coda, amongst many others. The songs were mainly original and the socially-distanced capacity audience had a great time.
