Nigel Price Trio with Lorne Lofsky – presented by the North Devon Jazz Club

Canadian jazz guitarist Lorne Lofsky joins award-winning guitarist Nigel Price and his trio to play a gig at North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver, Appledore on 16 October. Praised by Downbeat Magazine for his ‘masterful technique and exquisite touch’ Lorne is a living legend having toured and recorded with such greats as Oscar Peterson, Joey DeFrancesco and Chet Baker.
Nigel Price, who was voted top guitarist in the 2016 British Jazz Awards, always delights audiences with his blend of flowing bebop lines, deep blues sensibility and mastery of chording. To quote The Observer he is ‘probably one of the most dynamic and gifted guitarists on the British jazz scene.’
Nigel will also be joined by virtuoso double bass player Ashley John Long, a musician rated by The Jazzmann as ’one of the most singularly impressive double bassist in the UK, a supremely imaginative player and a phenomenal technician.’ Completing the ensemble will be Winston Clifford who is considered to be one of the best drummers in this country.
