YOUNG JAZZ STARS AT THE BEAVER

Tomorrow’s New Quartet appears at North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver, Appledore on 14 October and will showcase some of the UK’s young jazz stars.

Band leader and drummer Rod Oughton was described by Jazz Journal as having’ established himself as an important member of the UK jazz scene…both as a player and a writer’. Pianist Deschanel Gordon was voted BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2020, saxophonist George Crowley (who replaces Helena Kay) has been praised by The Guardian as a “fine young composer/player”, while bassist Flo Moore is also a member of award-winning bands Ezra Collective and Nerija. The band’s debut album was named Editor’s Choice by Jazzwise Magazine.

The gig will start at 8.30 p.m and entry will be free, although there will be a collection for the musicians during the evening. For a meal booking phone The Beaver on 01237 474822.

The gig is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club. Keep up the good work NDJC. There is no entrance fee, however a collection is taken for the band.
