Nicolas Meier’s World Group

Another return visit by this hugely popular band which draws on influences ranging from Turkish and Middle Eastern styles to tango, flamenco, blues …and more. To quote Jazzwise Magazine about Nicolas Meier ‘The choir of guitars he employs lend him an almost unique voice, especially as he favours fretless instruments that allow him to explore micro- tones, blends, slurs and sudden runs that dazzle and delight.’ Joining Nicolas on the front line will be violinist Richard Jones whose playing has been described as ‘spine tingling’ by The Guardian. Completing the ensemble will be top bass guitarist Kevin Glasgow and dynamic percussionist Demi Garcia.
