Eddie Gripper – presented by North Devon Jazz Club

BRINGING NORTH AMERICA TO APPLEDORE

Much-praised pianist Eddie Gripper brings his trio to North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver, Appledore on 29 June. At the gig the trio will perform numbers from their latest album, Americana, which was inspired by an epic journey Eddie did with a friend in 2022.
Thumbing lifts the two men travelled from the Arctic Circle through Alaska , the Yukon and British Columbia, then crossed the border into Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Arizona before finally reaching Los Angeles.

The album is a personal account of that six week journey, reflecting the American spirit, the warmth, optimism and generosity of its people but also a glimpse into a more fractured reality of drugs, homelessness and poverty.

Joining Eddie with be bass player Clem Saynor and drummer Patrick Barrett Donlon.

The gig starts at 8:30pm and is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club.
