AMERICAN JAZZ GUITARIST AT THE BEAVER
Mix the sophistication of jazz, the grit of blues and the grooves of funk and soul and you have the recipe for the music of American jazz guitarist B.D. Lenz who will bring his dynamic trio to North Devon Jazz Club at The Beaver, Appledore on Monday, 8th July, 8:30pm start.

B.D. has played guitar since his early teens, he is a graduate of the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and has studied with such masters as Mike Stern, Vic Juris and Charlie Banacos along the way. Lenz has released 13 highly-acclaimed recordings as a leader and his music has been featured in hundreds of TV shows globally including Breaking Bad, Catfish and Young Sheldon.
To quote All About Jazz: ‘Lenz’s music portrays his deep attachment to groove and rhythm as well as an uncanny ability to craft interesting and memorable melodies…’.

Super Blue Moon

Bristol-based Super Blue Moon are a trio comprising Darren McGrath, Ben Balsom, and Zoie Green. They channel the spirit of 70s British rock into a modern live-wire sound. Formed through years of collaboration the band found their identity the old way: jamming, gigging, and road-testing songs across pubs and venues in the South West of England.

All three members share vocal and songwriting duties, creating a dynamic, full-bodied sound that blends heavy riffs, melodic hooks and a touch of psychedelia. Neil is the leader of The Neil Sadler Band, a famous blues/rock band based in Barnstaple. Originally with Sleeping Lions, he now tours with his own band. His last solo album, Past to Present, was selected as album of the month in 2025 by the UK Independent Blues Broadcasters Association.
