So wrote critic Jackie Hayden in the magazine Hot Press about the Charlotte Glasson Band which will perform at North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver\, Appledore on 15th June. \nAt the gig the band will perform a brand new jazz/world music project called Yellow Moon and will feature multi-instrumentalist Charlotte on saxes\, flute\, violin and more\, Robin (William) Jones on guitar\, Sam Dorrell  on trombone and bass\, and Sudhi Ponyi on tabla and percussion.  \nTo quote Charlotte: ‘Drawing on influences from across the globe\, Yellow Moon weaves melodies of silk and gossamer that spin and float on breezes as warm and smooth as a summer’s morning… this project looks to explore the depths of colour and feeling that music brings us.’  \nThe gig starts at 8:30pm and is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club. At the gig the trio will perform numbers from their latest album\, Americana\, which was inspired by an epic journey Eddie did with a friend in 2022.\nThumbing lifts the two men travelled from the Arctic Circle through Alaska \, the Yukon and British Columbia\, then crossed the border into Washington\, Oregon\, California\, Nevada and Arizona before finally reaching Los Angeles. \nThe album is a personal account of that six week journey\, reflecting the American spirit\, the warmth\, optimism and generosity of its people but also a glimpse into a more fractured reality of drugs\, homelessness and poverty. \nJoining Eddie with be bass player Clem Saynor and drummer Patrick Barrett Donlon. \nThe gig starts at 8:30pm and is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club.

Lenz who will bring his dynamic trio to North Devon Jazz Club at The Beaver\, Appledore on Monday\, 8th July\, 8:30pm start. \nB.D. has played guitar since his early teens\, he is a graduate of the  Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and has studied with such masters as Mike Stern\, Vic Juris and Charlie Banacos along the way. Lenz has released 13 highly-acclaimed recordings as a leader and his music has been featured in hundreds of TV shows globally including Breaking Bad\, Catfish and Young Sheldon.\nTo quote All About Jazz: ‘Lenz’s music portrays his deep attachment to groove and rhythm as well as an uncanny ability to craft interesting and memorable melodies…’. \nThe gig is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club.
