DESCRIPTION:Canadian jazz guitarist Lorne Lofsky joins award-winning guitarist Nigel Price and his trio to play a gig at North Devon Jazz Club in The Beaver\, Appledore on 16 October. Praised by Downbeat Magazine for his ‘masterful technique and exquisite touch’ Lorne is a living legend having toured and recorded with such greats as Oscar Peterson\, Joey DeFrancesco and Chet Baker.  \nNigel Price\, who was voted top guitarist in the 2016 British Jazz Awards\, always delights audiences with his blend of flowing bebop lines\, deep blues sensibility and mastery of chording. To quote The Observer he is ‘probably one of the most dynamic and  gifted guitarists on the British jazz scene.’   \nNigel will also be joined by virtuoso double bass player Ashley John Long\, a musician rated by The Jazzmann as ’one of the most singularly impressive double bassist in the UK\, a supremely imaginative player and a phenomenal technician.’  Completing the ensemble will be Winston Clifford who is considered to be one of the best drummers in this country.  \nThis concert is presented by the North Devon Jazz Club. Along with Pete\, there is Keith Jones on Bass\, Pete Layton on Drums and Dave Shepherd on keyboards. \nPete is a veteran of the Appledore music scene\, appearing in a number of guises including Pete G\, Rat Pack Pete and Moonshadow.  \nThe Pete G Party Vibe – who are available to hire for your wedding\, wake or barmitzvah – play a massively eclectic mix of material\, including Beatles\, The Jam\, Frankie Valli\, Stereophonics\, Divine Comedy\, Queen\, Bob Marley\, Aztec Camera\, Doors\, Bon Jovi and Robert Palmer. \nThis event follows their highly acclaimed recent gigs at the Appledore Social Club in April and the Champ in June.
