DESCRIPTION:GRIPPING JAZZ AT THE BEAVER \nAward-winning saxophonist Alex Clarke joins up-and-coming pianist Eddie Gripper with his trio at North Devon Jazz in The Beaver on 3 November. \nAlex was winner at the age of twenty of the Rising Star category in the British Jazz Awards and has since pursued a career working with top musicians\, with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra\, Simon Spillett’s Big Band and the Ronnie Scott Jazz Orchestra as well as touring with her own quartet. \nPianist Eddie Gripper has received glowing reviews for his playing and compositions. He came to prominence with his superb album Home which was praised for its thoughtful and melodic compositions. To quote the Jazzwise review ‘In its maturity of  approach and deftness of execution Home is a significant achievement by any standards.’ \nThe gig starts at 8:30pm and is hosted by the North Devon Jazz Club.
